What is the NCRWA GO WATER! Pre-apprenticeship Program?
The NCRWA GO WATER! Pre-apprenticeship Program is a 6-week, summer program that introduces participants, ages 16 to 24, to water and wastewater career pathways. By participating in the pre-apprenticeship, you will gain direct entry into the NCRWA Water and Wastewater Systems Operations Specialist Registered Apprenticeship program upon successful completion of the 6-week pre-apprenticeship program, completion of a high school diploma or equivalency and are 18 years old.
NCRWA GO WATER! Pre-apprenticeship consists of 2 phases:
Phase I: Participants complete skill and interest assessments, take part in basic job readiness training, and are introduced to the water industry. (3 weeks, min. 4 hours per day)
Phase II: Participants explore a variety of career options available within the water and wastewater industry, take part in job shadowing experiences, and participate in worksite tours. (3 weeks, min. 4 hours per day)
WHO SHOULD APPLY? High school juniors and seniors, adult high school students, or high school equivalency students, 16-24 years old. Applicants must be able to commit and complete the entire 6-week program.
